Thanks for visiting Daves Domain Online! This is primarily a hobby Site as I try to spread the word about Home Automation and speech recognition. I continue to build and create new Web Pages (and videos)... so stop back whenever you find time.

I got started with X10 when I built my Home Theater. I used X10 lighting control to automatically dim and brighten the lighting for movie watching.

Later.. as my automation "habit" grew I found a Voice Control Software (Bill's Voice Commander) that controls my Home Automation products. I have now been using Voice Command for home lighting and more since late 2006. I had been a Web Page hobbyist since the early days of the Internet, so I created a BVC Fan Page (to help spread the word).

The problem with Voice Control is getting the computer to hear and recognize what is being said. I created a microphone configuration using cheap Baby monitors. And posted about it  "microphone setup for BVC" at the X10 forums. I also wrote my X10 story after setting up my BVC microphone. And even created a picture Page of step-by-step directions for Modifying baby monitors for a whole-house, open-air, microphone setup,

If you don't know what Home Automation is all about. Read:  What is Home Automation.

I YouTube... so naturally I created a several online videos about Home Automation (and BVC). I have even made a video or two for my friends at thisautomatedhouse.com.

I decided to share some of my HA (ahx) macro files online.

Most recently I've been working on Occupancy Sensing and devices that can make that possible. This has expanded the scope and direction of my Home Automation setup. No longer will my Voice Controlled home merely mimic the Star Trek Computer. The NEWEST product in my search for Occupancy Sensing is a BlueTooth detection software called BlueWatch. This new software has a great potential. Read and see more about BlueWatch.

Now I am looking more at a Home Centric S.A.R.A. (Smart Articulate Responsive Automation). I have amazed myself with what can be accomplished... by only looking at what I am doing in a different way. The SARA Home concept has leaped my Home Automation forward in a matter of weeks. I invite everyone to join me in the development.
